It's not the first time, that the Night of the Art Collectors takes place in Budapest. As a part of this huge event, the city's art quarter, with it's own "main street", the Falk Miksa Street will present various art exhibitions from 5 pm till midnight. Photos, graphics, statues and paintings will be on display; high quality is guaranteed. Concerts, presentations will complement the art festival. The last time, one of the event's biggest sensation was the first photo show a well known hungarian painter, Havadtőy Sámuel (Sam Havadtoy).
The Erdész & Makláry Fine Arts Gallery hosted the exhibition, where the photographs had an extraordinary conversation with each other. André Kertész's 1933 series, entitled 'Distortions' showing female nudes, were hanging from one wall, and Havadtőy's male nudes were hanged on the opposite side; facing each other.
Havadtőy happened ti meet the old master, in the early 1980's in Kertész's resident overlooking Washington Square Park, and he was even granted to use Kertész's 2 meter tall torsion mirrors.
